TRADITIONAL CRISPY PIZZA

Serves 4

Ingredients
Crust
1 package active dry yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup warm water
3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

Traditional Crispy Pizza

Topping
¾ cup tomato sauce
4oz sliced Italian salami, cut into strips
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
4oz small mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, sliced into thin wedges
½ green bell pepper, sliced
12 pitted ripe olives, halved
6 canned anchovy fillets, drained
1 ¼ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

 

1. For crust, in a bowl combine yeast and sugar in warm water, let stand till yeast dissolves.

   
 
2. In another bowl stir together flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and combined well, knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
   
 
3. Using a rolling pin, roll dough to a 12-inch circle.
   
 
4. Spread tomato sauce evenly over dough.
 
5. Sprinkle topping; salami, basil, mushrooms, onion, bell pepper, olives, and anchovies and cheeses.
 
6. Bake, uncovered, in a 375 oven for 30 minutes or till crust is crispy.
